Job Summary
Senior Embedded Systems Engineer responsible for developing embedded systems for radio and wireless technology products. Candidate will work in a cross-functional environment with software, hardware, systems, and QA engineers to translate design documents into coding requirements, troubleshoot Ethernet/packet networks, and ensure high-quality deployments at customer sites. Requires extensive hands-on work with RTOS/embedded platforms (Windows10, QNX, VxWorks), proficiency in C/C++/C#/Python/Java, and experience with test and measurement tools (signal generators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, Wireshark). Familiarity with LMR platforms (Motorola, Tait, Harris, Hytera) and RoIP/VoIP/IP-based solutions (P25, TETRA) is advantageous. Strong communication skills and self-motivation; travel to customer sites and company facilities is expected.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
- 10+ years experience developing embedded systems
- Experience with real time kernels and embedded OS(es) such as Windows10, QNX, Wind River VxWorks
- Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Python, Java or equivalent languages
- Ability to translate design documents into coding requirements; troubleshoot Ethernet/packet based networks
- Working knowledge of signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers and network sniffers (e.g., WireShark)
- Experience with 3rd party interfaces for LMR land mobile radio platforms (Motorola, Tait, Harris, Hytera) is welcomed
- Experience with cellular data or two-way radio equipment (RoIP, VoIP, P25, TETRA) is preferred
- Ability to work with software, hardware, systems, and QA engineers
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to interface with management and customers
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and company facilities as needed
