Job Summary
Design, implement, and integrate software for embedded Linux targets, including headless applications, servers, and drivers. Perform feasibility studies and performance analysis of embedded Linux components while configuring kernel and board support packages across various platforms. Troubleshoot complex system-level issues spanning bootloaders to user space applications and interface with common Linux services and protocols. Lead teams of engineers to execute projects, define system requirements, and provide coaching and mentoring. Document design alternatives using standard professional practices and remove obstacles to achieve agreed results.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study
- Four years of experience developing embedded Linux software
- Two years of experience with asymmetric multi-processing
- Two years of experience with Yocto Project
- Experience with RTOS development
- Experience integrating with low-level devices and peripherals (e.g. sensors, power supplies)
- Experience with common lab test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
- Experience with Object-Oriented design
- Experience in device drivers and data link layer
- Experience with cross-compilation and kernel development
- Experience translating customer needs into system requirements
- Two years of experience leading project teams
- Linux subsystems including drivers, kernel, and userspace
- Multi-platform kernel development
- Integrating with open-source applications
- C++ and Python
- Distributed revision control systems and common embedded Linux development tools (i.e. compilers, linkers, and debuggers)
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Ability to obtain a security clearance or meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

- Experience with RTOS development (FreeRTOS preferred)
