Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Job Summary
Design and implement microservices aligned with MOSA tenets, architecting interfaces and data flows per platform-specific reference architectures. Develop software interfaces using functional analysis and Model-based Systems Engineering to create documentation, while deriving requirements, use cases, and user stories. Collaborate with internal and external teams to produce artifacts including design documents, version descriptions, and configuration management plans. Conduct unit and system testing, debug TCP/UDP messaging, and support ROMs for proposals across Linux and RTOS environments. This full-time, on-site role in Sterling Heights, MI requires a US citizen with a security clearance. Relocation assistance is available with a two-year commitment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science engineering, or related STEM field. Will consider years of related experience in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of software engineering or software development experience.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Excellent coding skills with knowledge in C, C++, Java and Python.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Programming.
- Knowledge in an Agile development process and continuous integration for company projects.
- Derive software requirements, develop use cases and user stories.
- Experience with client server architectures and message patterns.
- Experience debugging TCP and UDP messaging interfaces.
- Experience developing software for Linux and RTOS environments.
- Experience designing, implementing, and testing DO-178B/C software.
- This position requires full-time, on-site support at a customer location in Sterling Heights, MI.

Desired Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering or software development experience.
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
- Experience with JIRA or similar Agile development tool.
- Experience developing microservices.
- Experience developing software for a FACE environment.
- Knowledge of software middleware's (e.g., JMS, DDS, ZeroMQ, and Kafka)
- Knowledge of embedded software design
