Job Summary
Develop advanced software systems for military aircraft platforms, focusing on safety-critical avionics and embedded capabilities. Design, integrate, and test software products using C++ and Real-Time Operating Systems like MOSA.ic, VxWorks, and Integrity. Collaborate within a multi-site team to manage projects involving MIL-STD-1553 and Ethernet communications protocols, while adhering to strict DO-178C safety practices and documentation standards. Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM, 5+ years of embedded experience, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Full-time onsite role with 10% travel; salary range $120,000 - $160,000 plus bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a STEM discipline
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience
- C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems
- Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity)
- Embedded application development using RTOS and Windows environments
- Prior SW Development and Integration experience utilizing the following communications protocols (MIL-STD-1553 & Ethernet)
- Software integration & test in lab and hardware environments
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to work onsite 100%
- Ability to travel 10%
Desired Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Experience utilizing Greenhills ARINC 653/APEX API
- Experience developing software for Electronic Warfare and Self Protection Systems ((ALQ-213, ALE-47, AN/AAR-47, AN/ALR-56M)
- Familiarity with software requirements development utilizing IBM DOORS
- CI/CD Pipeline experience
- Experience updating/reviewing software documentation (SRS/IRS, SDD/IDD, STP, STD, STR, etc)
- Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc)
- Version control and issue tracking (Gitlab, Atlassian suite)
- Hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
- Experience with Wireshark and Lua script plugins
- Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)
- Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
