Job Summary
Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Linux) at Lely develops and maintains a Linux-based embedded robotic platform, including kernel and userspace components. You configure, integrate and debug Linux systems to enhance reliability, performance, and security. You support the integration of new hardware platforms (ARM and x86) and collaborate with embedded software, electronics and robotics engineers and external partners to realize technical solutions. You contribute to software quality and development practices through knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and an Agile way of working. The role requires a completed HBO/WO degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience with Linux-based embedded systems, Linux kernel development, ARM/x86 knowledge, and programming/scripting in C, C++, Python, Bash, or Makefiles. The position is based on the Lely Campus in Maassluis with a hybrid work policy (minimum three days per week on campus).
Required Qualifications
- HBO or WO degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Linux-based embedded systems and software development
- Experience with Linux kernel development (configuring, building, debugging kernels)
- Knowledge of hardware architectures such as ARM and x86
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as C, C++, Python, Bash, or Makefiles
- Experience in multidisciplinary Agile teams and structured, critical, constructive collaboration
