Job Summary
Senior Embedded Security Engineer to harden the security of spacecraft embedded software. Collaborate with flight software engineers to integrate security best practices across the development lifecycle, establish secure coding standards, design and implement security testing harnesses, and enforce security controls in resource-constrained environments. Duties include conducting security reviews of flight controller software and communication protocols, performing threat modeling and security architecture reviews, integrating security features into test fixtures and CI/CD pipelines, supporting device security efforts, and ensuring security requirements are embedded throughout spacecraft development lifecycles. Ideal candidate has 5+ years in embedded systems security, strong C/C++, memory-safety focus, experience with secure boot, runtime hardening, and inter-process/ inter-device communication protection, and an ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance. The role is onsite at Centennial, CO; SF Bay Area; or Long Beach, CA, with compensation ranges across locations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development with a focus on security
- Strong C/C++ programming skills with deep understanding of memory safety and secure coding practices
- Background in low-level embedded software architecture, design, and development with security considerations
- Low-level device driver development experience with security hardening
- Proficiency with embedded systems tools, compilers, debuggers, IDEs, and static analysis tools
- Strong debugging skills
- Familiarity with embedded security standards and best practices
