Job Summary
Lead testing and commissioning activities from planning through project closeout for multiple active projects in the New York metropolitan area. Ensure elevator and escalator systems are installed, tested, and operated in accordance with Owner Project Requirements by overseeing pre-functional, functional performance, integrated systems, and pre-ASME testing. Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation while coordinating closely with contractors, design teams, facility owners, and agency representatives. Review submittals, O&M manuals, and training documentation to prepare final commissioning reports using tools such as Facility Grid, Procore, and Unifier. Requires NAESA Qualified Certified Elevator Inspector certification, 10 years construction inspection experience, and ability to climb ladders and access elevated equipment. Occasional night or weekend work may be required to support system shutdowns and facility cutovers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related fields
- 10 years construction inspection experience
- 5 years of Testing and commissioning experience
- Strong understanding of Vertical Transportation (Elevator and Escalator) Systems, Testing & Commissioning processes and Construction operations
- Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills
- NAESA Qualified - Certified Elevator Inspector (QEI)
- Ability to walk to active construction sites and access mechanical and electrical equipment rooms
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated equipment locations
- Local travel between project sites required
- Occasional night or weekend work may be required to support system shutdowns, testing activities & facility cutovers
- Physical ability to perform field inspections
Desired Qualifications
- Additional 5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
