Job Summary
Senior Electronics Design Engineer based in Banbury, UK, lead the design of on- and off-car harnesses, units, sensors and related assemblies to meet performance, reliability and regulatory requirements; drive the design of FIA/FOM component installations, specify electronics systems for trackside instrumentation, and generate installation manuals; investigate faults with the Reliability Engineer and trackside team, develop mitigation solutions, and lead continuous improvement of installations, design standards, and processes; support pre-season car build, test, and rig events to oversee electronics installation in the chassis and garage; engage in vehicle performance, development and reliability projects guiding the Mechanical Design Office on electrical/electronics solutions; travel and irregular hours are expected.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or equivalent is essential, preferably in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Multi-year experience in state-of-the-art electronics engineering in a high-level technology development environment
- Highly experienced in production of small batch/prototype analogue and digital circuits
- Deep understanding of sensor technologies and support electronics
- Proven track record of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends and race days
- Solid computer knowledge, CAD (Catia/3DX), PCB Design (Altium); embedded system programming (C) and high-level languages (C#/VBA) advantageous
- Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements
