Job Summary

Lead schematic and PCB design for assigned new-product and sustaining projects, creating reliable analog and digital circuitry with emphasis on signal integrity and noise rejection. Translate product requirements into documented electrical design specs, select components based on performance and lifecycle, and coordinate hardware interfaces with Firmware, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering. Troubleshoot hardware and firmware interactions, test designs using laboratory equipment, and own engineering changes from evaluation through release. Investigate production issues using root-cause methods to recommend design or process improvements. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and maintain accurate design documentation. Requires an ABET accredited degree and seven years of experience; full benefits and relocation assistance available.

Required Qualifications

  • ABET accredited Electrical Design Engineer Degree
  • 7 yrs preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (ABET Accredited)
  • Master's Degree
  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Analog and Digital Circuit Design
  • Altium Designer or equivalent schematic-capture and PCB-layout software
  • Microsoft Office
  • EMC design principles, including grounding, shielding, filtering, isolation, and PCB layout
  • Wired serial interfaces, including RS-232 and RS-485
  • Digital building automation communications, including BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU
  • Use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and relevant pre-compliance equipment
  • Demonstrated experience designing analog and digital electronic products
  • Demonstrated experience creating schematics and PCB layouts in Altium Designer or equivalent
  • Experience managing multiple design projects or workstreams
  • Five years designing analog and digital circuitry, or equivalent demonstrated capability
  • Experience using typical electronics and RF laboratory equipment
  • Experience leading assigned designs through verification, validation, and production release
  • Minimum of mid-level computer skills
  • Self-motivated, well organized, proactive and analytical
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully, culturally competent and collaboratively
  • Excellent Ability to communicate in verbal, written and electronic forms in a professional manner when working with employees, vendors and company contacts
