Job Summary
Collaborate with customers, product groups, and leadership to define and execute electrification projects that meet business and customer objectives. Lead development and integration activities for battery, charging, high-voltage, and electric drive systems across machine platforms while accountable for delivering timely, high-quality engineering solutions for new product introduction and validation. Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain, software, controls, and test teams to successfully develop and deploy electrified products. Support technical issue resolution, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives across development and production programs while staying current on emerging electrification technologies to improve product performance and reliability. This role supports battery electric machine development and high-voltage integration within Caterpillar's Integrated Drivetrain Energy Solutions Division in Tucson, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis
- Ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
- Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques
- Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Extensive experience and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems
- Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
- Working knowledge of electrification technologies and various application methods
- Ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges involving battery electric machines, energy storage systems, high-voltage integration, power electronics, charging systems, and vehicle electrification
- Ability to influence technical direction, align stakeholders, and drive execution across multiple engineering, product, test, and manufacturing teams
- 5-day on-site availability
