Job Summary
Lead and own Hardware Qualification test plan definition for new products and new features, collaborating with firmware, software, and hardware design teams. Determine test strategies that optimize product safety, reliability, risk mitigation, FMEA coverage, and schedule. Design and execute PCBA and electrical system components with hands-on testing and rework as necessary. Develop test procedures and automation from component level to system level, including next-generation hardware systems for fast, repeatable testing. Manage purchasing, build, integration, and final commissioning of functional testers while supporting board bring-up, bench validation, and manufacture test yield. Provide feedback from test results to design engineers to improve quality and test coverage through root cause analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineer
- 8+ years of hands on electrical engineering experience designing functional test equipment
- Knowledge of scripting languages to develop automation like Python, C# (.NET), MATLAB, PERL or SHELL
- Instrument control using VISA, SCPI and GPIB
- Understanding of peripherals and developing test and validation strategies
- Experience with computer hardware communication bus protocols: USB, I2C, UART, Ethernet, SPI, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, serial comms (RS232/485), etc
- Familiarity with measurement analysis techniques such as Gage RR and Process Capability Analysis
- Understanding of Product Release Cycle from prototype to production and key deliverables of each phase
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to support product development from prototype to production
- Experience with source code revision and control
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with GitHub
- Experience using NI TestStand test executive and sequencing software
- Understanding of both hardware and software integration and test process
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience in Schematic Capture and PCBA layout
- Experience with Altium Designer
- A detail-oriented individual who strives in an environment that values effective team collaboration
- Self-motivated: Demonstrate ability to set direction and proactively identify and fills gaps where needed
- Exposure to SW automation tool like APIs, REST and Robot Framework
