Job Summary
Create master drawing lists, define electrical system architecture, and design wire diagrams for aircraft interior projects including power distribution, cabin management, and lighting. Review completed drawing packages, approve them for release, and assist in developing verification procedures to comply with FAA design requirements. Support installation via liaison with modification facilities, identify root cause issues, and update drawings to meet schedule. Interface with clients, FAA designees, and vendors to ensure designs meet all requirements while participating in project bidding and scheduling. Mentor other engineers on technical designs and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical engineering
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- US Person status (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or political asylee)
- Extensive technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft (or similar) for VIP and/or commercial models
- Strong working knowledge of for OEM data platforms (e.g. My Boeing Fleet) and technical documentation systems
- Thorough knowledge of power distribution, lighting, cabin management, etc.
- Thorough understanding of the certification and electrical design process
- Ability to provide complex lay-outs and program design studies
- Ability to work and make decisions independently with limited supervision
- Ability to successfully interface with customers on projects
- Competent use of CAD and data management systems
- Ability to understand and derive multiple customer standard electrical system requirements
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations
- Ability to coach and motivate team of engineers
- Experience leading employees/teams in productive and efficient manner
- Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close/color vision ability to adjust focus
- Ability to travel as required
- Ability to work outside of core business hours as required
