Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Create master drawing lists, define electrical system architecture, and design wire diagrams for aircraft interior projects covering air conditioning, cabin management, and power distribution. Review completed drawing packages, approve releases, and assist in developing verification procedures to meet FAA design requirements. Support system installation by liaising with modification facilities, identifying root causes, and updating drawings to resolve design issues. Interface with clients, FAA designees, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle to ensure designs meet all specifications. Participate in bid processes to capture engineering requirements and manage project scheduling to align with major milestones. Mentor other engineers on technical designs and guide process improvements. This temporary agency role requires a Bachelor's in aerospace or electrical engineering with eight years of experience and the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical engineering
- minimum of 8 years relevant experience
- Aviation background
- aircraft interior experience
- US Person status (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or political asylee)
- Extensive technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft (or similar) for VIP and/or commercial models
- Strong working knowledge of for OEM data platforms (e.g. My Boeing Fleet) and technical documentation systems
- Thorough knowledge of power distribution, lighting, cabin management, etc.
- Thorough understanding of the certification and electrical design process
- Ability to provide complex lay-outs and program design studies
- Ability to work and make decisions independently with limited supervision
- Ability to successfully interface with customers on projects
- Competent use of CAD and data management systems
- Ability to understand and derive multiple customer standard electrical system requirements
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations
- Ability to coach and motivate team of engineers
- Experience leading employees/teams in productive and efficient manner
- Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close/color vision ability to adjust focus
- Ability to travel as required
- Ability to work outside of core business hours as required
Desired Qualifications
- Aviation background and aircraft interior experience strongly preferred
