Job Summary
Create scaled drawings showing proposed installations relative to existing facilities, including grounding layouts, underground duct banks, cable tray arrangements, and electrical equipment locations. Assist experienced designers on client facility walkdowns to gather design information and interface with vendors and contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments. Apply computer-aided drafting skills in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments. Work within a multi-disciplined team to prepare design drawings based on design input. Required Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
- 10 or more years of physical design experience including experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, and electrical equipment location drawings
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- Ability to multi-task from project to project

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
