Job Summary
Lead the manufacturing readiness and transfer for Arista’s most complex data center networking equipment (e.g., high-speed switches, routers, optical transport gear). Drive end-to-end NPI from design concept to mass production, collaborating with HW/Mech/Thermal teams. Define and maintain the manufacturing technology roadmap, oversee DFX (DFM/DFA/DFT) for high-speed interconnects (400G/800G+), optical modules (QSFP/OSFP), and advanced packaging of ASICs/FPGAs with emphasis on signal integrity. Architect robust manufacturing processes and System-Level FT/ATE strategies to achieve Six Sigma quality. Manage capacity planning, capital equipment procurement, supplier process audits, and water/liquid cooling solutions for high-TDP network processors. Support sustaining engineering to resolve complex post-launch issues. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. 5+ years in manufacturing engineering with 3+ years in NPI for data center networking equipment. Compensation range $140,000–$175,000 plus discretionary bonuses/equity; US benefits described. Arista is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience
- Minimum 3 years dedicated to NPI and high-volume product launches in data center networking equipment (switches/routers)
- Proven expertise in high-layer count PCBA manufacturing, soldering/rework for BGA/FC-BGA, and test coverage for complex network systems
- Experience with designing and qualifying production Functional Test (FT) systems
- Experience with PFMEA, SPC, DOE and applying quality tools
- Preferred: Master's degree; experience with water cooling/liquid cooling systems; experience with ATE development; leadership and cross-functional collaboration
- Direct experience with global CM/ODM manufacturing for networking/telecom equipment
- Fluency with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Python)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of 400G/800G+ interconnects, optical modules (QSFP/OSFP)
- Experience with Six Sigma-level quality practices
- Knowledge of thermal management and optical/ RF paths
- Ability to manage supplier process audits
- Experience with capacity planning and production-line layout
- Ability to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading manufacturing readiness and NPI for high-volume data center networking equipment
- DFX experience (DFM, DFA, DFT) for high-speed interconnects (400G/800G+)
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) development
- Strong knowledge of signal integrity, high-layer-count PCBA manufacturing, and thermal/optical module design
- Leadership and cross-functional collaboration with HW/Mech/Thermal teams
- Experience with Six Sigma, PFMEA, SPC, DOE
- Global contract manufacturers or ODMs management experience
- Water cooling/liquid cooling systems experience for network processors
- Programming or scripting for data analysis (Python, JMP) for statistical analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- 5+ years in manufacturing engineering; 3+ years in NPI for data center networking equipment
- Experience with high-volume product launches in data center networking (switches/routers)
- Experience with high-speed PCBA soldering/rework (BGA/FC-BGA) and test coverage planning
- Experience with component selection and supplier process audits
- Ability to travel as needed
- Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities
- Ability to define and maintain manufacturing technology roadmaps
- Knowledge of optical modules (QSFP/OSFP) and RF paths
- Experience with capital equipment procurement and production line layout planning
