Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineering Technician responsible for executing comprehensive bench test plans, PCB rework and assembly (SMT and through-hole), wiring harness construction and modification, fault diagnosis down to component level, data/documentation of test actions, and lab maintenance to support engineering analysis and continuous improvement. Requires strong schematic literacy, IPC-610/IPC-620/J-STD-001 familiarity, and eligibility to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years hands-on experience in electronics testing, assembly, and rework in an R&D or production environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical datasheets
- Proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering (IPC J-STD-001 or equivalent standards)
- Experience with PCB rework, component replacement, and modification
- Proficiency in building and modifying complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping and soldering connector types, and routing (IPC-620 or equivalent standards)
- Proficiency in diagnosing electronic failures to the component level using standard test equipment and documentation
- Understanding of product development lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-organizing: able to prioritize simultaneous tasks in an electronics lab/test environment
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
