Job Summary
Architect, design, and test embedded acoustic and video systems using commercial off-the-shelf and semi-custom components. Develop and validate printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) of varying complexity, owning full lifecycle designs from schematic to release documentation. Conduct component, board, and subsystem-level testing to verify compliance, including EMI/EMC, ESD, and thermal evaluations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design reviews, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (xFMEA), and root-cause investigations. Base salary ranges from $125,000 to $201,250, with eligibility for annual performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. Located in Santa Clara, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced degree with 3+ years of experience
- Experience using Altium Designer or similar eCAD tools to develop and maintain PCB schematics
- Experience contributing to the design, development, and validation of digital electrical systems across various stages of the product development lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on board-level and system-level architecture and development efforts
- Experience designing and developing electronic systems in the medical device industry or other highly regulated industries
- Familiarity working with embedded communication protocols and industrial networking technologies (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, I2C, SPI, or related technologies)
- Strong understanding of Linux and real-time operating systems, such as Ubuntu and QNX, and their application within embedded and distributed systems
- Design for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, electrically fast transients, electrostatic discharge, etc.
