Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer skilled in power distribution and system design for an employee-owned electric utilities firm. Responsibilities include software requirement definition, simulation validation, and innovative protection strategy development. Must hold a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of experience in utility or power systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the utility or power systems sector (post-Bachelor’s)
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with distribution system protection planning
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience with distribution system protection planning
- Familiarity with programming (any language)
- Deep knowledge of system protection concepts including time-current coordination, fuse-saving techniques, and coordination between fuses and reclosers
- Experience using protection software such as CYMDIST, CYMTCC, or Synergi Electric
