Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer SME responsible for reverse engineering of building electrical systems in a government facility, diagnosing complex electrical issues, assessing system functionality and vulnerabilities, and outlining cascading effects. Provides technical support for infrastructure decisions and develops/implements software and AI tools to perform facility condition assessments. Leads design reviews and collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors on power distribution, communications, controls, security, fire protection, HVAC, and water systems. Performs electrical engineering studies, develops SOPs for design, testing, and development of electrical equipment, and ensures compliance with codes and standards. Requires TS/SCI clearance, US citizenship, and a Master’s degree with 15+ years (or Doctorate with 13+ years) of relevant experience; proficient in CAD/BIM (Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and related building systems; strong communication skills for engagement with senior leadership and clients; preferred P.E. license and extensive experience with field deployments and complex multi-building facilities.
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI Clearance is required for consideration
- Must be a US Citizen
- Masters with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13+ years of prior relevant experience
- Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) tools in the design of electrical systems
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems, fire protection systems, communications, controls, and security systems
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems
- Deep understanding of high availability and multi-building electrical facilities operations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and clients on technical strategy and results
- Preferred: Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in electrical engineering
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, CAD/BIM software
- Familiarity with python programming, javascript, and AI tools
- Experience with electrical power systems analysis software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)
- Experience with CAD/BIM software and building codes adherence
