Job Summary
Contribute to the full lifecycle design of security-focused products, owning specific subsystems end-to-end from early-stage concept through prototyping, testing, and production. Identify and analyze cross-functional tradeoffs regarding performance, schedule, cost, risk, and complexity while collaborating with mechanical, firmware, and industrial design teams. Lead prototype development, design reviews, and communication with global manufacturing partners to optimize designs for mass production. Translate high-level requirements into actionable tasks, define design validation plans for electrical, RF, and imaging subsystems, and participate in risk identification activities. Stay current with emerging technologies to inform product design and innovation while providing technical input to product roadmap discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- at least 2 years working on consumer products
- Experience optimizing designs for battery operation with very low power usage
- Proven experience contributing to the design and development of complex systems from concept to mass production
- ownership of subsystems or components
- Experience working with product management to understand the data-driven 'why' and to be the voice of the customer
- Strong communication, EQ, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience owning design validation plans
- defining test coverage across electrical, RF, connectivity, audio, and imaging subsystems
- coordination with domain specialists and quality
- Ability to contribute at both the systems engineering level and as a hands-on technical contributor
- Experience in embedded systems design including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, SDIO, MIPI, etc.
- Experience with RF technologies including Sub-GHz, WiFi, and BLE
