Job Summary

Lead the design and execution of complex electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and controls, ensuring seamless integration with building architecture and other disciplines. Oversee detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications while managing project budgets, schedules, and technical accuracy from conceptual design through construction completion. Direct the development of design concepts, feasibility studies, and system evaluations, providing mentorship to junior engineers and resolving design conflicts with multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate with clients and consultants to present proposals and manage expectations, while ensuring compliance with building codes, energy standards, and sustainability initiatives like LEED.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited University/College program
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electrical system design and project management
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred (or equivalent certification)
  • Extensive experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Easy Power or SKM Power Tools, Agi32 or similar programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, including budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams and interacting with clients
  • Deep understanding of green building design principles, including familiarity with LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design frameworks
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and designers, providing guidance on technical issues and career growth
  • Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and managing the construction phase of electrical systems
  • Training in construction specification writing such as a construction document technologist or equivalent
  • Ability to work at a desk for extended periods
  • Ability to travel to job sites for site visits, project coordination, and inspections as needed
  • Ability to observe electrical system installation and ensure compliance with design intent, which may involve walking on construction sites and navigating uneven terrain
