Lead multi-disciplinary projects in battery minerals and plant optimisation, overseeing electrical and instrumentation design, system calculations, and hazardous area equipment specifications. Prepare detailed designs, work packs, and project documentation while conducting early-stage studies and FEED work. Manage site investigations, scoping, and commissioning support, including contractor management and workshop facilitation for HAZOP. Guide junior engineers and designers, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and functional safety lifecycle documentation such as LOPA methods. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 7-10 years of Australian heavy industry experience, and RPEQ registration. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience as an Engineer in Australia
  • Experience in heavy industry electrical and instrumentation design, including reviewing and marking up technical drawings and providing construction and commissioning support
  • Ability to prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, electrical and instrumentation design specifications, detailed designs, and work packs/scopes of work
  • Site experience in investigations, scoping, commissioning, and contractor management
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and regulations
  • Expertise in the design and specification of electrical and instrumentation equipment for hazardous areas
  • Expertise in functional safety lifecycle documentations specifically the development of LOPA method from the process safety standard
  • Experience conducting early-stage studies for electrical and instrumentation systems, including proficiency in electrical system calculations
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, overseeing and coordinating the work of junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and support
  • Knowledge and experience working with heavy industry clients in the minerals processing
  • Registered/Chartered Engineer status
  • Knowledge of control systems design
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary consultancy setting
  • Experience with studies and (FEED)
  • Proficiency in workshop facilitation (HAZOP)
  • Project management skills
