Job Summary

Lead design efforts for the analysis and design of electrical systems for moderate to complex building projects, including power distribution, lighting, and specialty systems. Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards. Perform site assessments, prepare technical reports, and conduct in-process reviews of designs while applying quality control processes. Interact with clients to gather requirements and provide technical assistance in resolving field issues. Train, mentor, and motivate staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals. Prioritize safety in all engineering work and stay current on industry trends and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 7 years of experience minimum
  • Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline
  • Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics
  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
  • Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
  • Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Strong training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Desired Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience preferred, in the building design consulting industry
