Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical components, systems, and software for engine control systems, including fuel injection and electronic governor controls. Manage the electrical project team while developing test specifications, verification plans, and executing functional testing with troubleshooting capabilities. Drive software strategy from requirements through validation, utilizing MATLAB/Simulink, C++, and Hardware-in-Loop systems to tune performance and integrate designs with electronic controller suppliers. Independently perform development of complex engine electrical components, apply state-of-the-art technologies, and contribute to continuous process improvement and lessons learned. Deliver project work meeting time, cost, performance, and quality targets under the direction of the Combustion Engineering Manager. This hybrid role requires on-site presence three days per week in Kohler, WI.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on embedded system development and implementation
- Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive, powertrain, or other commercial vehicle application software development, management and implementation
- Four or more years MatLab/Simulink/Stateflow experience (Modeling, simulating, and analysis)
- Skills with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, meters)
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications and software requirement specifications
- Use of software tools such as compilers and emulators
- Background in engine controls and the operation and implementation of electronic drivers, sensors and components
- Software-in–loop/Model-in–loop validation
- Understanding of J1939 or similar CAN BUS communication and diagnostic standards
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
- Hybrid role based in Kohler, WI, requiring on-site work 3 days per week
Desired Qualifications
- TargetLink experience a plus
- Direct ASCET/INCA, MotoHawk/Mototune (or similar platform) experience a plus
- Background in verification and validation such as RTRT, Tessy, Python, CAPL, or similar is a plus
