Job Summary
Senior-level lead for capital improvement projects in Milwaukee County, driving electrical engineering design and construction efforts from planning through closeout. Responsibilities include acting as project manager and team leader, coordinating with client departments and external agencies, preparing technical studies and design documents, hiring consultants, managing contracts and budgets, ensuring compliance with public works ordinances, and delivering O&M training. Requires extensive experience in electrical systems for public infrastructure, ability to set design and operation standards, and strong QA/QC oversight. Preference for candidates with project design/management experience in local government and a Wisconsin Professional Engineer license. Must be a Wisconsin resident with a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum five (5) years of professional electrical engineering, project management or similar experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality of projects
- Experience with design, construction, and operations of electrical systems for public infrastructure
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal requirements
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- License/Certification preferred: State of Wisconsin P.E. (Professional Engineer)
