Job Summary
Lead and oversee electrical engineering projects from concept to completion for heavy industrial site retrofits and municipal infrastructure, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance. Utilize E-Tap or equivalent software for system analysis, short circuit, and load flow calculations to design power distribution and optimize performance. Manage medium voltage switchgear, transformers, and protection relay systems while collaborating with mechanical, structural, and civil disciplines to deliver complete design packages. Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with utilities and backup power generation teams to enhance project capabilities. Requires APEGA registration and 8+ years of Alberta experience.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in Alberta
- Proficiency in E-Tap or equivalent software
- Strong background in heavy industry, medium voltage switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, protection relays, and controls
- APEGA registration as an Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer
- Excellent leadership, mentorship, and teamwork skills
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in challenging projects
