Job Summary
Lead electrical power system design projects for industrial and manufacturing facilities, developing construction packages including one-line diagrams, power plans, and equipment layouts. Design low- and medium-voltage distribution systems, perform arc flash, short circuit, and load flow studies, and apply NEC and NFPA standards to specifications and procurement packages. Coordinate project execution with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams while supporting construction, commissioning, and field troubleshooting. Serve as Lead Electrical Engineer on diverse EPC and design-build projects across food, beverage, chemical, mining, and specialty chemical industries, providing technical mentorship to junior engineers. Travel 25-30% and occasionally overnight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEE/BSEET) from an ABET-accredited institution
- 6+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial facilities, consulting engineering, EPC, manufacturing, or related industries
- Experience designing low-voltage electrical power distribution systems for industrial facilities
- Knowledge of NEC and industrial electrical design practices
- Experience developing electrical construction documents and design packages
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong organizational and project execution skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel approximately 25-30%, including occasional overnight travel
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience performing electrical power system studies using: ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower
- Medium-voltage power distribution design experience
- Arc flash, coordination, and short circuit study experience
- Hazardous location design experience
- Experience specifying and applying: Switchgear, MCCs, Transformers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Protective Relays, Power Distribution Equipment
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit
- Consulting engineering or EPC project experience
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: Food & Beverage, Chemical, Specialty Chemical, Mining & Aggregates, Metals & Steel, Oil & Gas, Refining
