Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Electronics

Job Summary
Design isolated power conversion systems and custom magnetics for industrial control hardware, defining architecture from requirements through schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer. Lead investigations into unconventional power topologies, validate designs via simulation and bench testing, and debug switching converter instability or EMC failures. Manage full certification paths for CSA, UL, and ATEX standards while delivering complete design packages for manufacturing handoff. Collaborate with embedded engineers on hardware interfaces and mentor team members on power electronics principles. This role requires 8–12 years of hands-on power electronics experience and includes a 3-day onsite schedule in Austin, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of hands-on experience designing and delivering production power electronics hardware
- Deep proficiency in switching power supply design
- Magnetic design experience
- Proficiency in Altium Designer for full schematic capture and PCB layout
- Working knowledge of power simulation tools
- Solid understanding of EMC design for switching converters
- Experience designing for industrial operating conditions
- Hands-on debug capability
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field

- Familiarity with current transformer (CT) design for sensing or power extraction applications
- Knowledge of resonant magnetic coupling architectures
- Experience with hazardous location (HazLoc) certification
