Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for designing critical power systems for new data centers and expansions, leading multi-disciplinary electrical design activities, and producing construction documents. The role requires expertise in electrical power distribution systems, equipment sizing (generators, UPS, PDUs, switchgear), and knowledge of data center design for large-scale environments. Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP to develop electrical construction models, collaboration with management for RFPs/submittals/RFIs, and effective communication with trades and stakeholders. Responsibilities include project management, design leadership, field coordination, review of shop drawings and submittals, development of sequences of operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, life safety, energy conservation). The position emphasizes client interaction, proposal support, and potential supervision of interns or junior staff. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8-15 years experience
- Experience designing electrical systems for data centers
- Knowledge of electrical systems including single/three phase power distribution, lighting controls, grounding, life safety
- Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP
- Experience with UPS, Generators, Batteries, switchgear, PDUs
- Ability to develop construction documents and review shop drawings
- Experience with field engineering coordination
- Strong communication with clients and stakeholders
- LIC/PE or EIT a plus
- Knowledge of NEC, Life Safety and Energy Conservation Codes
- Experience with SKM Powertools, ETAP or similar engineering tools
- Experience leading design teams and coordinating interns or staff
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience in data center / mission-critical facilities
