Senior Electrical Engineer - PE

Job Summary

Coordinate with Lead Electrical Engineer to assist in developing new staff and review engineering work from internal teams and contractors. Produce power system models, short circuit analyses, protective device coordination, arc flash studies, and shock hazard analysis per UISE standards. Engage in on-site meetings to quantify scope, produce quotes, and extract information from drawings while requesting RFIs as needed. Format study results, provide recommendations for power system deficiencies, and manage client expectations. Requires Michigan PE license, advanced SKM PowerTools and AutoCAD proficiency, and ability to multitask with multiple deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain
  • Expert understanding of IEEE and NEC
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (specifically one-lines, riser diagrams and panel schedules)
  • Performed short circuit, protective device coordination or arc flash analysis studies previously
  • Proficiency with SKM PowerTools and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational ability
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, embraces new challenges, and willing to do the necessary research to find the right solution
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and fluent English speaker

Desired Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of ETAP, EasyPower
  • Additional PE licenses in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois
