Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for technical leadership and oversight of electrical deliverables for new construction, remodels, and capital upgrades across commercial and supermarket facilities. Focuses on quality assurance, code compliance, and client consultation, guiding designs prepared by internal teams or external consultants to meet applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities include senior-level technical reviews and redlining, coordinating electrical systems with mechanical, refrigeration, EMS/controls, architectural, and MEPR disciplines, advising on equipment selection and constructability, conducting on-site assessments and field inspections, preparing deficiency reports, mentoring junior engineers, and traveling up to 15%. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a PE license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting or similar technical environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Extensive experience with electrical distribution, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems in commercial/retail/industrial/supermarket facilities
- Demonstrated expertise in high-level technical reviews, code compliance evaluations, and system-level coordination
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including client-facing interaction
- Deep knowledge of NFPA 70, applicable building codes and industry standards
- Proficiency in reviewing AutoCAD or Revit-based design packages
