Job Summary
Lead design efforts for electrical system analysis, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations to code and IMEG standards. Perform site assessments, generate technical reports, and review designs to implement quality control processes. Partner with clients to understand needs, communicate technical information, and build relationships while prioritizing safety and mitigating risks. Train, mentor staff, and provide technical assistance for field issues with limited senior support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for education, healthcare, and public-sector projects aligned with energy-efficient design goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 7 years of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry
- Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
- Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
- Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Strong training and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
