Senior Electrical Engineer - MC & I - Oil and Gas

Job Summary

Perform detailed design of electrical power systems including one-line diagrams, control schematics, conduit sizing, and equipment specifications for substations and power projects. Prepare computer-based models for power system studies such as short circuit, load flow, and arc flash analysis, then develop protective relay settings and commissioning documentation. Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing, provide field troubleshooting, and review submittals for conformance with client specifications. Support business development, prepare proposals, and manage engineering budgets while maintaining strong client relationships. This role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years of experience, and FE licensure, with a base salary of $125,000 to $175,000. Candidates must work in the Odessa/Midland, TX area or remotely from that location.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • FE is required
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution
  • Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes
  • Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design
  • Proficiency with power system studies software such as PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM
  • Previous experience coordinating and managing projects with key clients, customers, contractors and others
  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas market sector
  • Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
  • Self-starter with strong initiative
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Works additional time beyond 40 hours/week to complete projects, proposals and/or administrative functions, as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
  • Experience: 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • Licensure: PE preferred
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution
  • Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes
  • Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design
