Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer to support major nuclear projects including the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) SMR program, providing technical leadership in electrical power systems. Responsibilities include preparing/reviewing technical documents (drawings, calculations, specifications, reports), performing electrical system studies (load calculations, equipment sizing, system analysis), designing electrical equipment (transformers, MCCs, UPS, diesel generators, power distribution), ensuring QA compliance with codes and standards, planning and executing electrical designs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and vendors, leading defined work scopes, mentoring junior staff, and supporting site visits, construction/commissioning, issue resolution, and project targets.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and power systems within nuclear or heavy industrial environments
- Experience with medium and low voltage power distribution systems and electrical design deliverables
- Experience in equipment sizing including transformers, cables, and breakers
- Experience using electrical analysis tools such as ETAP or similar
- Experience preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
- Familiarity with CSA, Canadian Electrical Code, and nuclear QA programs
- Experience in nuclear power plant projects (new build, refurbishment, or modifications) would be an asset
