Job Summary
Execute electrical engineering activities to meet contractual scope, codes, and company procedures for gas and oil & gas projects. Perform calculations for load studies, hazardous areas, and cable sizing; approve and stamp drawings including grounding, conduit, and system architectures. Develop design criteria, specifications, and work plans while managing schedules, budgets, and stakeholder coordination. Mentor junior team members, review project documentation for accuracy, and support business development through proposal writing and client meetings. Travel to field for scoping, verification, and construction support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering field
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional project management, project engineering or discipline engineering in the gas or related industry
- Strong understanding of all phases of project documents and the relationship between drawings and specifications
- Ability to effectively review the work of others for accuracy and completeness
- Familiar with relevant electrical codes (NFPA, IEEE, ICC, API, ANSI, NEC)
- Familiar with the development of P&IDs, DBM's, single line diagrams, and other key design documents
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents
- Job is performed in an office environment / hybrid / remote
- occasional travel may be required
- Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check
Desired Qualifications
- experience in the natural gas or oil & gas midstream industry
- Recent experience in executing multi-faceted and multi-disciplined small to medium size projects
- Experience with electrical power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, harmonic evaluation, grounding, etc.)
- Working knowledge of CAD design software and standards
