Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer at Kennedy Jenks focusing on design of water/wastewater and industrial electrical systems. Lead electrical design for infrastructure projects, perform power-system studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, arc-flash), contribute to conceptual reports and construction documents, develop design documentation using REVIT/CAD/BIM, coordinate P&IDs with electrical schematics, perform calculations for voltage drop and generator sizing, design lighting and fire alarm systems, review contractor submittals, and mentor junior engineers. Requires PE license in CA (or reciprocity), 7+ years of relevant experience, and strong cross-discipline collaboration skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of relevant experience in buildings/water/wastewater/industrial facilities
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in CA or ability to obtain reciprocity in other states
- Experience designing and sealing medium to large electrical projects across full lifecycle (planning, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, testing)
- Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Advanced knowledge of stand-by generators, switchgear, MCCs, switchboards, load calculations, transformers, MV/LV power systems, and SKM software
- Proficiency in REVIT, CAD, BIM and coordination of P&IDs with electrical schematics
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical teams
