Senior Electrical Engineer - Healthcare

Job Summary
Lead and support all phases of healthcare engineering projects from proposal development through construction completion. Review existing as-built drawings, perform field investigations, and conduct feasibility studies to prepare schematic designs. Design power single line and riser diagrams, low voltage, and medium voltage infrastructure, including equipment replacement projects for substations, switchboards, transformers, and panelboards. Utilize CAD/BIM standards and National Electrical Code to perform QAQC while coordinating with mechanical, plumbing, and other disciplines. Manage project budgets, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of electrical design experience in healthcare or commercial buildings
- Ability to lead projects from concept through construction
- Strong understanding of healthcare codes and standards
- Experience using NEC, AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit
- Familiarity with California Building Code and National Electrical Code
- Familiarity with HCAI/OSHPD standards
- Familiarity with Net Zero Energy/Carbon design
- Project management
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification
- LEED accreditation
- PE license
- Experience with low-voltage building systems (fire alarm, security, voice/data, nurse call)
- Experience using CAD/BIM standards
- Have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code and Energy Standards to design electrical systems
- Perform QAQC for electrical design
- Coordinate among different disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
