Job Summary
Design, modify, and analyze electrical systems for power plant retrofits, new installations, and industrial facilities by preparing functional design drawings, detailed calculations, and specifications for equipment procurement. Investigate and resolve engineering issues while coordinating system design to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements. Review work performed by others, interface with vendors to prepare bills of material, and assist project leads in delivering projects on time and within budget. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification. Lead teams in adopting automation and AI tools to improve workflows and reduce rework. Work in a hybrid environment with three days in-office.
Required Qualifications
- A BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 5 or more years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design
- Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
- Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations
- Experience performing calculations in ETAP and/or SKM
- Technically knowledgeable of electrical power distribution equipment
- Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role
- Experience in reviewing other engineers' design calculations and drawings
- PE license preferred or ability to earn a PE license is required
- Must be able to earn a PE license
