Job Summary
Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, for all project work involving electrical engineering. Deliver on-the-spot advice and cost estimates while coordinating with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines, as well as outside consultants and code officials. Mentor design resources and assist in establishing standards, practices, and specifications for the electrical discipline. Serve as Engineer of Record for healthcare, commercial, and federal projects. Requires a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and seven years of progressive experience in power distribution, fault studies, and life safety systems. Reports to the Electrical Discipline Manager in Dewberry's Birmingham, AL office.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months
- Accomplished electrical engineer
- 7+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, multiple generator powerhouses, multi-building medium voltage campus distribution, fault studies, selective overcurrent coordination studies, load flow studies, arc flash studies, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on healthcare and commercial projects
- Experience should include management of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Well organized, takes good notes
