Job Summary
Lead and deliver high voltage substation design for data centre and infrastructure projects, covering primary plant components and transmission line elements. Conduct technical studies including load flow, fault level, and protection coordination, while preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and reports to a high standard. Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration and support grid connection processes. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in high voltage electrical engineering design
- Demonstrated experience in substation design
- Primary plant design
- Secondary/protection systems experience
- Experience with data centre electrical infrastructure
- Experience in renewable energy projects
- Prior involvement in grid connection studies and utility liaison
- Strong working knowledge of HV systems (33kV and above)
- Transmission-level experience
- Proficiency with relevant design and power systems analysis software
- Solid understanding of applicable electrical design standards and codes
- Strong technical report writing and documentation skills
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively across international teams
- Full-time availability
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in substation design (secondary/protection systems experience an advantage)
- Experience with data centre electrical infrastructure highly desirable
- Experience in renewable energy projects (e.g., wind farm, solar) will also be considered favourably
- Prior involvement in grid connection studies and utility liaison preferred
- Strong working knowledge of HV systems (33kV and above; transmission-level experience preferred)
