Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer to lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and CAD personnel in executing electrical engineering and design for mining/mineral processing within budget and schedule. Provides technical leadership, mentors engineers-in-training and designers, prepares and checks calculations and electrical equipment specification packages, reviews vendor drawings for compliance, develops detailed design and installation specifications, creates conceptual designs, studies, reports, and proposals, ensures effective communication within project teams and with client engineers, tracks project metrics, reports to the Area Project Engineering Manager and Electrical Lead, and visits project sites and Hatch design offices as required.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial projects in utilities and/or metals
- Engineering degree and registration as a Professional Engineer with the P.E.O or another Canadian Professional Engineering Association
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of industry regulatory codes and standards
- Proficiency with electrical design tools: SPEL, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, and ASPEN
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Advanced computer skills
