Job Summary
Senior Avionics Engineer needed to join Anduril’s Air Dominance and Strike Electrical Engineering team in Costa Mesa, CA. Drive end-to-end avionics development from system architecture and schematic design to verification, integration, and flight test across hardware, software, and mission-autonomy domains. Responsibilities include full-cycle PCB design (requirements gathering, schematic, layout supervision, bring-up, test, and system integration), microcontroller bring-up, cross-discipline troubleshooting across electrical and software boundaries, power design and power-management integration, payload interfaces and sensor development, interconnect diagrams and wire harness definitions, and collaboration with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver mission-critical products. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience, strong lab skills and familiarity with CAN/I2C/SPI/Ethernet/RS232/422/RS485/USB, ability to obtain/maintain an active US security clearance, and extensive experience with power design and mixed-signal PCBs. Preferred qualifications include defense/missile-domain background, firmware development, and experience with high-end embedded systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex system designs
- Ability to perform power system and electrical loading analysis, simulation, and testing
- Experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and EMI/thermal testing
- Familiarity with CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, RS232/422, RS485, USB
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and bring-up
- Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and circuits
- Experience designing mixed-signal PCBs with multiple layer counts and impedance matching
- Understanding of low/high voltage power electronics and cable harnessing
