Job Summary
Senior/Lead Power Systems Engineer with a focus on power systems analysis across renewable energy and grid-connection projects. Lead projects, mentor engineers, and provide expert advice to clients on power generation, energy storage, and network operations. Collaborate with external clients and service providers; contribute to energy storage and inverter-based generation initiatives; deliver timely, high-quality guidance on power system operations and development. Based in Aurecon's Sydney Energy team, supporting innovative engineering solutions and aNet Zero by 2025 agenda. Key tools include PSSE, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory; regulatory familiarity with the National Electricity Rules and the NEM grid connection process. Flexibility to work in a hybrid arrangement and engage across renewable energy and power system optimisation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Expert understanding of power systems theory
- Experience with power system modelling tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Field experience with power systems behaviour and knowledge in protection and primary systems design is advantageous
- Familiarity with the National Electricity Rules and the grid connection process within the NEM
