Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer role in a consulting engineering firm focused on electrical systems design for industrial, higher education, healthcare, federal government, and commercial projects. The successful candidate will design electrical systems, manage multiple projects, lead design teams, develop fee-based proposals, mentor staff, and collaborate with architects, owners, and general contractors. The position requires strong knowledge of NEC/IEEE/NESC/IESNA/IECC standards, experience with SKM/ETAP or similar modeling software, AutoCAD and Revit proficiency, and the ability to perform marketing/business development activities. Travel is required. The role emphasizes client engagement, multi-discipline coordination, and contributing to office and department goals. A BS in Electrical Engineering and a PE license are required; 10–15 years of experience is expected. Hybrid work schedule; location Fulton, MD.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (required)
- 10 to 15 years of experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to travel
- Knowledge of electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC)
- Project management experience and/or certifications
- Experience with design and mentoring of teams
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary projects
- Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
- Active local industry involvement is a plus
- Experience with SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software
