Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer in Houston, TX. Responsible for electrical scope development, engineering labor and equipment estimates, design requirements, and coordination with internal/third-party centers for electrical calculation needs (substations, plant power distribution, cable/conduit installations, cable trays, power distribution, lighting, grounding). Includes participation in FAT, construction/commissioning support, review/approval of electrical equipment and vendor drawings, and direct supervision of detail design/field contractors as needed. Requires experience with P&IDs, power calculations, and engineering tools (SKM/ETAP); familiarity with NEC/IEC/ANSI standards; ability to interface with utilities and contribute to estimating for new facilities and existing plants; prior exposure to cryogenic air separation processes and HYCO/SMR tech is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical engineering/design/support in industrial/engineering-construction environments
- Must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and perform power calculations; experience with SKM or ETAP for power demand, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
- Knowledge of NEC, IEC, ANSI, and applicable codes
- Ability to coordinate with internal/third-party engineering centers and utility interfaces
