Job Summary
Deliver robust, constructible electrical engineering solutions for assigned projects while effectively managing risks across development, delivery, commissioning, and operation. Provide high-quality design reviews and technical assurance to the Team Lead, ensuring compliance with grid connection and regulatory requirements. Improve asset reliability and operational performance for thermal generation, Battery Energy Storage Systems, solar PV, and hybrid energy systems. Participate in technical tender evaluations, supplier assessments, and contractor engagement activities. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contractors. Requires 8-12 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure and power generation. Hybrid work arrangement available with competitive compensation and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Ideally a minimum of 8-12 years' experience in electrical engineering for large-scale infrastructure, power generation, transmission, or renewable energy assets
- Strong experience across renewable and/or thermal generation projects within an IPP, EPC, utility, owner's engineer, or developer environment
- Proven track record providing specialist technical input and delivering detailed designs under the guidance of a Team Lead
- Experience with grid connection processes and power system studies
- Strong understanding of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems
- In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, network requirements, and power industry practices
- Advanced electrical engineering design and review capability
- Practical understanding of electrical asset reliability and lifecycle considerations with a focus on implementation within projects
- Commercially aware and risk-based engineering judgement
