Job Summary
Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer to lead architecture and development of high-voltage, high-power switch-mode power supplies for semiconductor and industrial applications. Define system-level architectures for high-voltage, high-power digitally controlled power supplies; lead topology, control strategy, magnetics, insulation, and thermal design trade-offs; establish design standards; develop and validate advanced simulation models; guide digital power control with firmware/control teams; provide root-cause analysis for complex electrical and control issues; oversee multiple products from concept through production and field deployment; collaborate with product management, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain for scalable, manufacturable designs; lead risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety, EMC, and regulatory standards; act as senior technical interface with customers, suppliers, and partners; influence technology roadmaps and platform strategies; mentor engineers and lead design/architecture reviews. Location: Fort Collins, CO. Approximately 10% travel. Education: BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS preferred. Compensation range: $90,000–$145,000 per year. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (required)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in power electronics or electrical engineering product development (6 years with a Master’s degree)
- Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, plasma systems, industrial power, or high-voltage applications strongly preferred
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics or Control Systems (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree is explicitly required in Education section
