Job Summary
Lead end-to-end electromagnetic and thermal design and validation of liquid-cooled PMSMs from concept to production. Proficiently utilize ANSYS Maxwell and Motor-CAD for multi-electric and thermal simulation and design optimization. Drive design optimization to achieve targets for performance, cost, and reliability while collaborating closely with systems and controls teams on motor-controller matching and integration. Act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. This onsite role contributes to the MOTR/R&D Department in Shanghai, focusing on onboard propulsion technologies for rail, bus, and industrial vehicle electrification.
Required Qualifications
- Master degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years in PMSM design, preferably for off-road, automotive, or railway applications
- Proficient in ANSYS Maxwell and Motor-CAD for electromagnetic and thermal simulation
- Solid understanding of motor manufacturing processes and material characteristics
- Knowledge of motor-controller matching and system integration requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Capable of guiding junior engineers and collaborating across teams
