Job Summary
Conduct design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems within a project team environment. Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve electrical engineering issues while preparing detailed calculations for three phase AC/DC power studies, short circuits, and protective relay settings. Assist the engineering lead in ensuring projects meet schedule and budget constraints, and perform independent reviews of calculations, drawings, and engineering reports. Lead others in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve workflows and reduce rework. Work three days in-office with two days remote flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 5 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design, or modifications or replacements of existing systems; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
- Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations
- Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
- Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective working in teams and individual work
- Detail oriented approach to work
- You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days
Desired Qualifications
- PE license
- MSEE
- Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures
- Construction and start-up experience
- Overseeing engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks, with review of automated outputs
- We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows
