Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee moderate to complex electrical design projects, serving as the primary point of contact for teams and clients. Assist project executives with design scopes, fee calculations, and contract reviews while creating project schedules and managing change orders. Lead progress meetings, document construction site visits, and resolve client concerns to ensure design milestones and quality control processes are met. Manage monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections. Train and mentor staff, develop client relationships, and ensure all designs comply with owner, IMEG, and code requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering
- 11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
- Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
- Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
- Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Strong training and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
Desired Qualifications
- 8 years of experience preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- 12 years of experience preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
